Preservation Parks of Delaware County, Ohio offers several opportunities
for nature education through a variety of programs.

Nature Extensions

Developed to assist teachers in nature education, the Nature Extension Program offers several nature topics each school year and brings interactive nature displays and activities into the classroom upon request. Through a combination of lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, students are exposed to a variety of exciting nature subjects.

Current programs are Bats Are Terrific; Predators on Wings; Spirit of the Eagle; Out on a Limb; Those Incredible Insects; Hip Hoppers; Helicopters Parachutes & Hitchhikers; (seed dispersal) Winged Beauties; Birds & Feeders, Nature's Fireworks; and The Rainforest.

Education Programming

Each year our program coordinator forms a partnership with one or more of the county elementary schools. Working with two or more classes per school, the partnership studies one nature topic in depth for the school year.

Summer Explorers

Designed for children ages 8-12, the Explorers Program introduces children to, and instructs them in, a variety of nature topics. Through exploration, discussion, experimentation and creative activities, children learn about their natural environment and its relationship to their lives.

Nature Lovers Lecture Series
This series consists of both lectures and workshops covering a wide range of topics.
